It may be worth visiting/farming if you've cleared the difficulty you're on, but are having trouble with the first act of the next difficulty. Level-wise, it contains monsters and loot that are roughly on par with the first act of Nightmare (if you're visiting the Normal variant - I assume that it is roughly on par with the first act of the difficulty one harder than the difficulty you enter the portal in) - nothing super difficult or super awesome. Just like these random dungeons, it has chests and other lootable objects, plus a plethora of monsters, including some champion and unique monsters. Whimsyshire is essentially a single-level dungeon, much like the dungeons you find randomly while exploring the wilderness. The game also features the Secret Cow Level, with the appearance of Hell Bovines.According to sources on the Blizzard forum, the secret level is called Whimsyshire: This effect is not unlike a Corpse Explosion, although triggered more like a trap rather than a cast spell. Clicking on the dead cows will cause them to explode violently, dealing damage to the player and spattering entrails around. These dead cows do not indicate anything when the mouse is run over them, but they can be interacted with, unlike the living cows. In the ruins of Tristram, the dead bodies of cows may be found, presumably they represent the cows of Diablo I that have been destroyed along with the rest of the town. These cows cannot be interacted with and neither will the presence of vicious demons, slaughter, nor magical explosions have any effect on the cows' peace of mind. While out slaying monsters, cows may be occasionally found standing under small shelters. Cows are present once again in Diablo II, first sighted from the very start of the game, standing in the Rogue Encampment. ![]()
